Virgil Joseph Isebrand

Virgil Joseph Isebrand the son of Henry and Grace (Janssen) Isebrand, was born on December 12, 1926, in rural Titonka, Iowa. He died on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 81.
Virgil received his education in Woden, Iowa schools and graduated from Woden High School in 1944. Following his graduation from high school, Virgil served in the United States Navy during World War II.
On January 9, 1948, Virgil was united in marriage to Neoma Holland at Grant Lutheran Church in rural Woden. After their marriage the couple lived in Woden where Virgil was in the produce business for over thirty years. In 1973, they moved to Fenton, Iowa and operated the Polar Bear Lounge. The couple then moved to Wayne, Nebraska and operated a poultry farm. They moved to Estherville in 1975, where Virgil was employed at ECHO until the time of his death.
He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church, VFW Post 3388 and also was a sixty-year member of Woden American Legion Post 628.
Virgil is survived by his wife of sixty years, Neoma of Estherville; five children, Steven (Linda) Isebrand; Pamela Stallings; Joyce (Allen) Rogers; Joan (Rodney) Uthof; Cory (Nancy) Isebrand; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives; and many, many friends.
Preceding Virgil in death were a great-grandson, Andrew Carter Cantu; son-in-law, Bob Stallings; his parents; one brother, Orville; and one sister, Viola Spear and her husband, Raymond.
