Obituary for Morris John Johannesen

Morris John  Johannesen
Morris John Johannesen, son of John and Lillie (Ploger) Johannesen, was born on September 26, 1928 in Ledyard, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Mayo Health Systems of Fairmont, Minnesota, at the age of 89 years.
Morris attended and graduated from Seneca High School. In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, he was honorably discharged in 1953. He then returned home to Iowa to farm. On April 8, 1953 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Fink in Ringsted, Iowa.
Morris was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong, where he was a past president and trustee of the church board. He was also an active member of the VFW where he served as past Commander. Morris served on the Elevator Board for six years. In his free time, Morris enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Armstrong; his children, Ginger (David) Voorhees of Queen Creek, AZ, Julie (Dennis) Rinard of Bondurant, IA, Lori (Neil) Satterness of Sartell, MN, and Vicki (Russell) Belz of Ames, IA; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Morris is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Lea) Johannesen of Swea City, IA.
Morris is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Joel and sister, Marlys Wagner.
