Obituary for Lloyd Madden

Lloyd  Madden
Lloyd Madden, the son of George and Alta (Kohl) Madden was born November 4, 1929, near Halfa, Iowa. Lloyd departed this life on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa, at the age of 88.

He received his education in Halfa school, graduating from Halfa High School.

On November 12, 1950 he was united in marriage to Jeannine Steinberg in Fairmont, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed at the family farm at Halfa until 1981 when they moved to their current farm near Armstrong. For hobbies, Lloyd enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle and participated in RAGBRAI Jeannine died in 2012.

Lloyd was a member of the Armstrong Presbyterian Church and also a past member of the Halfa school board.

Left to cherish Lloyd's memory are his children, Jim Madden and his wife, Vicki of Armstrong; Sue Friesner and her husband, Steve of Estherville; five grandchildren, Jason (JoEllyn) Madden and their children, Gage, Grady and Kade; Jeremy (Kris) Madden and their children, Brielle and Cameron; Matt (Jennifer) Madden; Sarah (Jason) Kollasch and their children, Luke and Kora; Brad Friesner (Kim Paplow) and their children, Bristol and Blayke.

He has been preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeannine; sister, Vivian Langerman and brothers, Gerald and Loren.
