Obituary for Steven Eugene Nourse

Steven Eugene Nourse
Steven Eugene Nourse, was born January 16, 1956, in Estherville, Iowa, to Charles and Arlene (Houge) Nourse and departed this earthly realm on May 22, 2018, at home in Windom, Minnesota, at the age of 62.
He received his education in the Estherville school system and graduated from Estherville High School in 1974.
Steve married LeAnn Allen in 1978, but unfortunately that ended in divorce. During this union they had two beautiful daughters, Abigail and Kate. Steve loved and cherished both girls and many memories were created. Steve had one brother, Mark. Growing up together they were typical brothers, bumps, bruises usually were given to each other in the name of love, of course. The two remained close though the distance separated their day to day contact. Steve met June Koch over 20 years ago and they remained together until his death. They experienced many adventures in the course of their lives. June had three children that she brought into Steve’s life and he loved them like they were his own. Through the ups and downs they never left each other’s side. Steve loved to hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle and drink an occasional beer…. well maybe a little more than that. Pheasant hunting was his specialty and driving the gravel roads of Iowa and Minnesota looking for the elusive ring neck brought him much happiness. He loved living in the Midwest and outside of a 10-year stint in Utah he was a true plainsman.
Steve was a veteran of the US Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB and Little Rock AFB in Arkansas. He will receive proper military honors.
Steve worked in various management positions through out his life, including AgChem in Jackson, Minnesota. He was a hard worker and excelled where ever he was.
His life was not perfect by far but what life is. Like the rest of us we try to pickup with pieces we can and move forward. In the greatest sense of the word, he was loved and will be sorely missed.
Steve is survived by his parents Charles and Arlene Nourse of Estherville, Iowa; two daughters Abby (Travis) Nieman and Kate Jensen (Maggie Green); grandchildren Lauren, Jonah, and Bailey; life partner June Koch and her children Jared, Megan, and Colleen; eight grandchildren Jordan, Courtney, Brooke, Chase, Vance, Quinn, Everett, and Owen. He is also survived by his brother Mark (Kathy) Nourse, nephew Adam (Stephanie) Nourse, great-nephew Liam and a great-niece on the way; niece Sarah Nourse Bourgoine (Jason), great-niece Addison, and great-nephew Aiden; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friend Sue Morrow Deidiker.
