Obituary for Bob Ulrich

Robert (Bob) Alan Ulrich the first son of Frank and Kate (McGrauth) Ulrich was born February 16, 1947 in Whittemore, Iowa. He died on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Fairmont Hospital in Fairmont, Minnesota at the age of 71.
He received his education at Rodman and Mallard schools graduating in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and received his honorable discharge in 1969.
On August 6, 1965 he married Ruthe Baughman and to this union three children were born, Janiece (Todd) Runge; Jodie (Dennis) Schrader and Scott (Jaimee) Ulrich. The couple later divorced. Bob worked for 45 years around the area where his passion was for John Deere. He started as a salesman for Dudley Company in Swea City, managed the Fairmont location of Truman Farmers Elevator John Deere Division and was manager for Ernie Williams in Buffalo Center and Estherville retiring in 2014.
On July 3, 1985 Bob was united in marriage to Karen Kruckenberg (Stadtlander) at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. He has two step daughters, Dee (Stadtlander) Steve Jensen and Dawn (Stadtlander) Looft. Bob was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. Bob enjoyed going to 8-man football games and watching Dena play softball and basketball. He enjoyed playing with the grandkids and making pickles and hot beans for them and all the holiday's that the family spent together. Bob loved cooking, NASCAR, Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes and camping at 3-finger campground with all the friends they met over the years.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Karen; children, Janiece (Todd) Runge of Swea City; Jodie (Dennis) Schrader of Fairmont; Scott (Jaimee) Ulrich of Armstrong; step-daughters, Dee (Steve) Jensen of Ringsted and Dawn Looft of Fairmont; grandchildren, Andy (T.J.) Runge; Alicia (Aaron) Williams; Ariel Runge (Sean Quinn); Aric Runge; Spencer (Myranda) Schrader; Sierra Schrader (Jacob Hartke); Gabi and Jewell Ulrich; Ethan (Katie) Jensen; Clyve Jensen (Amanda Proehl); D.J. Looft; Dylan Looft and Dena Looft; great grandchildren, Matthew, Bentley, Kayden, Landon Runge and Samuel and Levi Williams; Isabella Quinn and Zoey Jensen. He has been preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Kate; brother, Jim Ulrich; sister, Ruth (Jack) Halder; mother and father-in-law, Arnold and Wilma Kruckenberg-Scholl; and step-father, Bud Scholl.
